What to write to us about

- Corrections: a wrong meaning, a misspelling, or a name listed under the wrong origin.
- Requests: a culture, language or name style you would like to see added.
- Privacy: questions about our privacy policy or requests about your data.
- Partnerships and advertising: collaborations, licensing questions or sponsorship.
- Bugs: anything on the Site that does not work as expected. Tell us the page, your browser and device.
Before you write
Many common questions, such as whether the names are real, whether you can use them in a book or game, and how the filters work, are answered in the FAQ at the bottom of the home page and on each origin page. Privacy questions are covered in detail in the privacy policy.
Reporting a correction
Please include the surname, the page where you saw it and, if possible, a source for the correct meaning or spelling, such as a surname dictionary or a national records office. This lets us check and fix it quickly.
Response time
We aim to reply within a few business days. We do not offer phone support, and we cannot research individual family histories, but we are happy to point you to good resources for genealogy.
